This is a private commissioned tea from Zhongcha Company in 2002, using tea leaves from Fengqing area made into a traditional hammered iron cake. The soup is soft and sweet with lingering aftertaste, very smooth without any astringency, dryness or other unpleasant tastes. Although the compression is high, the transformation is better than expected, with even fermentation internally and externally, also validating that Hong Kong and Guangdong regions are very suitable for aging post-fermented tea varieties*. Now the green flavours have faded and thick plum flavor emerged. This iron cake comes with a reasonable price tag and is good for both daily drinking and collecting.

*Spring in these regions is noted by periods of humidity, during which tea cakes absorb moisture from the air. The hot summer is ideal for fermentation. In autumn, the northern winds whisk away the moisture from the tea cakes, making it the best time of the year to savor Pu’er tea. Winter prepares the tea for the upcoming cycle in the cold weather.
